National £3 Bus Fare Cap Scheme

Over 130 bus operators outside of London are now capping single fares at £3. This includes popular services for students such as First Bus, Thames Valley Buses, and Carousel Buses. This is valid until at least March 2027.

Key Information:

  • Check Eligibility: You can view the full list of participating operators and service numbers on the government website.
  • Payment Method: Please be aware that most providers do not sell the capped tickets via their mobile apps. You must purchase them directly from the driver.

Note regarding London: This scheme does not apply to Transport for London (TfL) services, as their fares are already lower than the cap.
